Dorothy A. Bindeman Larner, age 76, of Erie, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Syracuse, N.Y. on January 11, 1934, daughter of the late John and Dorothy Weinheimer Bindeman.

Dorothy was a graduate of East High School and Edinboro College. She had taught 25 years with Head Start prior to her retirement. Dorothy was an active member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and had sung in the church choir and played hand bells. She knitted 10 hats, booties and blankets each month for the premie babies at Hamot Medical Center.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Susan Jennings of Marion, Mass.; four sons, Brock Major of Saco, Maine, Brian Major (Shino) of Proctor, B.C., Rhett Major (Mary) of Irwin, Pa., Bobby Major (Susan) of Springfield, Mass.; three step-sons, Brian Larner of Lake City, Todd Larner (Alice) of Harborcreek and Eric Larner (Amy) of Erie; one brother, Bob Bindeman (Joanne) of Erie; one sister, Sandy Brown (Bill) of Erie; one sister-in-law, Jean Bindeman of Dayton, Ohio; 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by one brother, Jack Bindeman.
