Thomas J. Brady

Thomas J. "Tom" Brady, 71, of Corry, Pa., passed peacefully at home on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.

He was born in Tarentum, Pa., on Nov. 6, 1944, son of the late "Diamond" Jim and Mary Davidek Brady.

Tom graduated from Corry Area High School in 1962, then continued his education at Technical Institute in Tampa, Fla., earning an associate degree in engineering and design. Tom first married Rebecca "Becky" Chris in Tampa Fla., on April 25, 1964. She passed away in March of 2003. He then married Susan Cowing on Feb. 17, 2006, who survives him.

Tom was first employed at Raymond Manufacturing for a period of 15 years, working as a design engineer, department foreman and in the dual department. He was then employed by Corry Manufacturing Co. as an engineer, plant supervisor and vice president. Tom was then president of Corry Laser Technology for 21 years until his retirement in 2008. He also owned and operated Corry Motor Sports, which handled the retail sales and repair of Sno Jet snowmobiles, in Columbus, Pa., for a number of years.

Tom loved to grill and cook, was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and definitely loved his NASCAR racing, as well as assisting and watching his son, Scott, race for many years. He also loved watching his grandsons participate in sports, especially baseball and football. Tom was a member of American Legion Post 365, Corry Moose Lodge 98 and VFW Post 264.

In addition to his wife, Susan, Tom is survived by his son, Scott Brady and his wife, Michele; and two grandsons, Jim and Mark Brady.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Becky, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Mark.

At Tom's request, there will be no calling hours and burial will be held privately at Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the American Legion Post 365, 1460 Sciota Street, Corry, Pa., on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice or to the YMCA of Corry, 903 N. Center Street., Corry, PA., 16407.
