David John Dimick, 77, of Canton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at North Fulton Hospital in North Fulton, Ga.

Mr. Dimick, born in Corry, was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.

He and his wife, Kaye, moved to Canton in 2009 from Gaylord, Mich., to be near family. While there, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and retired from Honeywell, where he was awarded the President's Club.

After retirement, he spent the next five years driving a school bus for the Gaylord Public School System. His love of children made this his “dream job.”

Survivors include his wife, Kaye Dimick, of Canton; four daughters, Meryl McDonald of Texas, Jill (Marc) Michael of Tennessee, Julie (Van) Temple of Tennessee and Kelsey (Blair) Ruzicka, of Canton; a sister, MaryAnn (George) Orton; seven grandchildren, Travis Michael, Amanda McDaniel, Justin Temple, Lacey Elmore, Landon, Madeline, and Mallory Ruzicka; and two great-grandchildren, Noah McDaniel and Nash Michael.
