Daniel G. Martin, 76, of East Pleasant Street, Corry, Pa., died Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Corry Manor.
He was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Youngsville, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Morrison Martin.
Dan was raised and educated in the Tidioute and Garland areas and attended Youngsville High School. He later obtained his CDL and drove truck delivering milk, gravel and other items. He hauled Rogers’ steel to the St. Louis Arch construction site. He also worked with his father in construction and for Youngsville Construction. Dan eventually worked for the Heavy Carpenters Union Local 2274, where he helped build bridges, buildings and did road work. He worked for the union for over 30 years, retiring in 1995.
Dan enjoyed cross country skiing, fishing, car racing, working with his hands and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by four sisters, Doris Lindell, Marge Maloe, Sue Auflick and Betsy Litzinger; two brothers, Keith Martin and Jim Morrison; and two grandsons, Jesse Martin and Gavin Taylor.
Dan is survived by his wife Teresa A. O’Brien Martin whom he married on Feb. 5, 1985, in Youngsville, Pa.; two daughters, Sherri Martin Miles of Erie, Pa., and Jennifer Taylor and her companion Justin Neely of Warren, Pa.; four sons, Tim Martin and his wife Melissa of Corry, Pa., Stephen Martin and his companion Shayla Martin of Corry, Pa., James Martin and his wife Ciera of Loganville, Ga., and Daniel Martin and his wife Alisha of Mill Village, Pa.; two sisters, Joanne Martin of Port Orchard, Wash., and Nancy Stewart of DuBois, Pa.; and two brothers, Frank Martin and his wife Linda of Corry, Pa., and John Martin and his wife Lucy of Torrington, Wyo.
Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be announced at a later date.
