Evelyn I. Boleratz, 74, entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, April 8, 2010 at her residence 11636 Route 19 Waterford, Pa. after several years of declining health. Born February 14, 1936 in Rockdale Township, Crawford County, Evelyn was the daughter of the late David H. and Marion K. Morton. She was educated in the Rockdale Schools.

Evelyn married Joseph Boleratz on October 14, 1950 and together they spent much of their married life dairy farming and raising 12 children in Union City. Retiring from the farm in 1987, they moved to their current residence where they continued planting a large garden and raised numerous small animals from time to time. A faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Evelyn was a Proverbs 31 woman who enjoyed working and sharing the fruits of her labors with others. Special joy came to her from cooking, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening, singing hymns and having family gatherings. She believed family must get together often, learning to laugh, love and always forgive one another.

Along with her husband of 59 years, Evelyn is survived by five daughters: Susan (Ronald) Bell, Union City; Emily (Chris) Truchanowicz, North East; Margaret (Jeff) Osborn, Waterford; Brenda (Jeff) Paddock, Mayville, N.Y.; Valerie (Robert) Terzic, Aurora, Colo.; and seven sons: Darryl (Nancy), Waterford; Joel (Fern), Union City; David, Van Cleve, Ky.; Brad (Donna), Waterford; Blaine, Corry; Brent (Terri), Kingsland, Ga.; and Zane (Kelly), Cranesville. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Preceding Evelyn in death was a brother, William Morton, a sister, Meredythe King and a granddaughter, Rebecca Boleratz. Her kind and sharing ways continue through Humanity Gifts Registry.

A memorial service will be held at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 27 W Second Street, Waterford, Pa. at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010. Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church, 5000 Route 6, Union City, PA 16438.
