Vera Mae Estes Peters, 79, of Union City, died on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Edinboro Manor.
She was born in Erie, Pa. on May 1, 1941, the daughter of Adam J. and Nora I. McClenahan Estes.
Vera attended Wattsburg High School and worked at Cherry Hill, Division of Ethan Allen Company in Union City. She retired in 1987 after 20 years of service. After retirement, Vera worked at the Union City Food Pantry and served as a Grandma Reader for young children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Peters Sr., on Oct. 30, 2001, after 43 years of marriage. She was further preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Troup, Thelma Estes and Shirley Leech.
Vera is survived by two sons, James H. Peters Jr. and his wife Heather of Waterford, and Jeffrey A. Peters and his wife Annette of Corry; one daughter, Pamala Sue Ball and her husband Cris of Cambridge Springs; three brothers, Roger Estes and his wife Patty of Keystone Heights, Fla., Richard Estes and his wife Lisa of Union City and Harley Estes of Corry; and three sisters, Treva Bartel of Harborcreek, Catherine Anthony of Union City and Blanche Hesch and her husband Louie of Erie. She is further survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, 42 E. High St., Union City from 10 a.m. to noon and are invited to attend a service there at noon with the Rev. Lea Guiney officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City.
