Alana Rae Pognant

Alana Rae Pognant, 56, Corry, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, Pa.

She was born Aug. 8, 1965, in Meadville, Pa., a daughter of the late Raymond Godsave and Bonnita Bartholomew Godsave of Slippery Rock, Pa.

As a young girl, Alana and her family moved to Corry. She attended Corry Area High School and graduated in 1984. After high school, she went to Jamestown Business College and achieved an Associate’s Degree. Following college, she worked several different jobs throughout the years. Starting as a secretary in an orthopedic office then at Millcreek Community Hospital in the ER, Blair Corp. on the line and then doing secretarial work, Corry Manor and Peterson Publishing as an editor. She eventually got into home health care and worked for CRI, Loving Hearts and then the Rouse Home until she fell ill.

She was a member at the Corry First United Methodist Church and within the last year attended Bible studies and services at the Salt Church in Corry.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, especially the Bible and praying. Her family and grandchildren were most important to her and she loved to spend as much time with them as she could.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, David Pognant and a grandson in infancy.

Alana is survived by her husband, Neil Pognant, whom she married on April 5, 1991, in Corry, Pa.; two daughters; Lynette Stoughton and husband Rayne, of Slippery Rock, Pa., and Danielle Newark of Union City, one son, Neil Pognant II of Corry, Pa.; mother-in-law, Pauline Race of Corry, Pa.; son-in-law, Dustin Newark of Corry, Pa., and one brother, Raymond Godsave II and wife Helen Mort, of Fayetteville, N.C.

Alana is also survived by four grandchildren, Emma and Iveigh Stoughton, Chevelle Newark, and Nicholas Ford; and a niece, Lacie Kyser of Sallisaw, Okla.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Salt Church at a later date.

Interment will be at Riceville Cemetery, Centerville, Pa.
