William B. Truby, age 80, of North East, died on Thursday April 15, 2010 at St. Vincent Health Center.

He was born on March 15, 1930 in Salamanca, New York to the late Michael Joseph and Nancy Elizabeth Reed Truby.

Bill was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army and was a graduate of Little Valley High School.

He was formerly employed at Hammermill International Paper for over 40 years and retired in 1993.

He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, North East American Legion Post 105, North East V.F.W. Post 4789, and the Brotherhood of St. Joseph.

Bill enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Marie Sienkiewicz Truby; brothers, Jack, Richard, George, and Howard Truby; sisters, Elizabeth Moyer and Virginia Byrne.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Kartesz and her husband Frank II of Erie; a brother Leonard Truby and his wife Edna of Angola, NY; a sister Ruth Whipple and husband Harmon of Buffalo, NY.
