Harry Hudson Coulter, 84, of Prospect Street, Corry, Pa., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at Singing River Health Center in Gulfport, Miss.
Harry was born on Jan. 16, 1937, in Pithole, Pa., the sixth child of John Coulter and Maymie Elder Coulter.
As a young boy, Harry moved to Corry where he remained after he completed his education. He was a graduate of Corry Area High School, Class of 1954. After high school, Harry attended DeVry Institute in Chicago Ill., where he studied Broadcast Technology. He returned to Corry in 1958, and worked briefly for the First Baptist Church during a renovation. He later worked as Chief Engineer for WOTR Radio Station in Corry, then went on to a career as a Maintenance Electrician and then, Chief Plant Engineer for Associated Spring/Barnes Group Inc. He retired from there in January 1999 after 37 years of service.
Harry was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Corry, where he was actively involved as a trustee, soundboard technician, and a church dinner organizer and cook. He also spent some 30 years as a board member and volunteer for Bethany Camp in Sinclairville, N.Y. He spent several years as the president of The Radio Amateurs of Corry where he taught Ham licensing classes, including Morse code.
He always loved working with his hands and was adept at many skills including woodworking, building, repairs, and even sewing. He loved to cook and taught his children the art of preparing multi-course dinners, even when they did not always behave with proper etiquette.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Ford; and two sisters, Etta Simmonsen and Edna MacLees.
Harry is survived by his wife, Beatrice A. Loveland, whom he married on May 28, 1976, at his home in Corry, Pa. He also has two daughters, Melissa Kueczynski and her husband Albert, both of Waterford, Pa., and Jen Coulter, of Gulfport, Miss. He has one remaining son, John Coulter and his wife Arlene, both of Gerry, N.Y. Harry also has four living siblings, sisters
Maxine and husband Cosmo Pelican of Corry, Pa., and Alice Bogert of Elgin, Pa.; brothers John Coulter of Saltsburg, Pa., and Merle Coulter and his wife Tracey of Elgin, Pa.
Harry is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call at the First Baptist Church, 302 W. Pleasant St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry Pa.
