Dan L. Taylor, 60, died at his East Smith Street home in Corry, Pa., on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
He was born in North East, Pa., on February 29, 1952. He was the son of the late Donald “Jack” Taylor and Beverly Maas Scott.
While growing up in the Corry area, Dan was a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams. Following his graduation from Corry High School in 1970, he attended Edinboro College, where he was on the football team for a season.
Dan was the owner and operator of Dan Taylor Electric and worked as an electrical contractor throughout the area since the early 1970s. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Harp Taylor, on March 21, 2011. They were married on November 17, 1988, in Union City, Pa. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Judith Sypolt.
Dan is survived by two daughters, Danielle Giannetti and her husband, Michael, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Charise Taylor of Erie, Pa.; and two sons, Brandon Mitchell and his wife, Paula, of Warren, Pa., and Snapper Mitchell. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours observed. A memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.
