Stanley J. Sander, 92, of Donation Road, Corry, Pa., died Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1928, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Frank and Teresa Mazgay Sander.
Stan was raised and educated in Corry and worked on the family farm for many years. He later became an electrician and lineman for the Local IBEW, working for several employers, retiring in 1990. Stan continued farming until recently.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, the Corry VFW, and Corry Central Labor Club. Stan enjoyed farming, was an avid hunter and Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.
In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by four sisters, Ann Gluvna, Mary Spitman, Mickey Tomcho and Elizabeth Sander in infancy; four brothers, Robert, Constantine, Joe and Stanley Sander, in infancy; and a great-grandchild, Ayden Rhodes.
Stan is survived by three daughters, Dona Rupp and her husband Brad of Corry, Pa., Kathy Nealer and her husband Jack of Indiana, Pa., and Phyllis Illig and her husband Jason of Corry, Pa.; two sons, Jake Sander and his wife Kathy and Mark Sander and his wife Layna, all of Corry, Pa.; a sister, Sophie Girovsky of Corry, Pa.; three brothers, Pete Sander of Corry, Pa., Walter Sander and his wife Doby of Broken Arrow, Okla., and John Sander and his wife Ilse of LaPort, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Faye Sander of Erie, Pa.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one great- great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 203 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass there at 11 a.m. The Rev. D.G. Davis III will officiate.
Due to CDC regulations, masks and social distancing will be required.
Burial will be in Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam, Pa.
