Earl E. Sliker, 74, of McCray Drive, Spartansburg, Pa., died Friday, September 9, 2011, at Corry Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Sliker was born on October 4, 1936, in Tionesta, Pa., a son of the late Alva and Luella Dashner Sliker.
He was raised and educated in Tionesta, Pa., and graduated from North Clarion High School in 1955. He had worked as a molder in the foundry at Ajax Iron Works (Cooper Industries) for many years until his retirement in December of 1991. He later worked part time for Doyle Security in the Corry area and for the Corry Journal as a driver for distribution of many of their publications.
Earl enjoyed playing horseshoes and spending time with his grand and great-grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jaggi; and two brothers, Gerald and Karl Sliker.
Earl is survived by his wife, Janet M. Croscut Newton Sliker, whom he married in Corry on November 23, 1985; four daughters, Kelly Davis of Corry, Pa., Kim Huff and her husband, Herbert, Kelli Price and her husband, Scot, and Sheryl Sherman and her husband, Jerry, all of Spartansburg, Pa.; two sons, Keith Sliker of Columbus, Pa., and Kenneth Sliker and his wife, Candy, of Corry, Pa.; five sisters, Lois Riley and her husband, Russell, of Oil City, Pa., Betty Allio and her husband, Russell, of Tionesta, Pa., Ruth Moore and her husband, Joseph, of Tionesta, Pa., Evelyn Dunkle and her husband, Gerald, of Pine Grove, Pa., and Florence Hatfield of San Diego, Calif.; and two brothers, Roy Sliker and his wife, Mary, of Cranberry, Pa., and Paul Sliker and his wife, Cathy, of Tionesta, Pa. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
