Harlan M. (TYKE) Nefstead, 51, of Corry, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, LECOM Corry Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Cudahy, Wis., on May 18, 1968, a son of Verna Loraine Murphy Nefstead and the late Harlin A. Nefstead.
He was a 1986 graduate of Titusville High School. He worked for Peter Hardner and Sons Inc. of Erie and was a self-employed carpenter and gardener.
Tyke loved fishing, hunting, trapping. He was a member of Street Machines Unlimited. He was also a member of Mount Pleasant Chapel. He loved the Lord, and enjoyed all beauty of the outdoors that He had created.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Nunemaker; and his niece, K.C. Nunemaker.
In addition to his mother, Harlan is survived by his wife, Dawn M. Foster Nefstead; two children, Trisha Nefstead of Corry and Anthony Nefstead of Renoldsville, Pa.; three sisters, Vicky Conner of Little Cooley, Lory Nunemaker of Centerville and Jo Lynn Cerepani and her husband David of Melborne, Fla.; his in-laws, David and Sandra Foster of Corry; and two sisters-in-law, Theresa Moore and her husband Jim of Corry and Amber Geer and her husband Greg of Union City. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles and two nieces, six nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Chapel with Pastor Dave Nolan officiating.
