Paul R. Martin Jr., 72, of Stuart Road, Corry, Pa., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at Corry Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1948, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Paul R. and Vivian Fairchild Martin Sr.
Paul was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry Area High School in 1966. Following high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1974. Paul returned to Corry and worked at Associated Springs-Barnes Group (Raymonds). He worked there for 35 years, retiring in 2008. While working there he also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years.
He was a member of the Corry VFW and American Legion and was a boy scout leader for many years. Paul enjoyed camping, golfing, spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death on May 5, 2016, by his wife, Gaila A. Kent Martin, whom he married April 10, 1976, in Beaverdam, Pa.; and an infant sister, Debra Martin.
Paul is survived by three sons, Noble Martin and his wife Pam of Corry, Pa., Nathan Martin and his wife Tricia of Union City, Pa., and Nicholas Martin of Corry, Pa.; and two sisters, Sandy Skalos and her husband Steven of Corry, Pa., and Chris Sekerak of Columbus, Ohio.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kurtis, Ryan, Zack and Taylor Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Due to CDC regulations, masks and social distancing will be required. The funeral service will be held privately by his family. The service may be viewed on the Bracken Funeral Home Facebook page starting at noon on Wednesday.
Burial will be in the spring at Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam, Pa.
