Charles H. Williams Sr.

Charles H. Williams Sr., 83, of Erie County Line Road, Corry, Pa., died Sunday, July 26, 2020, at his home.

He was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Fairview, Pa., a son of the late Roscoe and Florence Orba Williams.

Charlie was raised and educated in Lake City and attended Girard Union High School. He worked for a farmer in the grape vineyards and various other jobs before moving to Corry in 1964. In 1966, Charlie started working at Corry Jamestown as a paint sprayer until Corry Contract bought the building. He worked his way up to supervisor in the finishing department and worked there for 20 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1999.

He was member of Faith Evangelical Church in Corry, and the American Legion in Corry. Charlie enjoyed baking pies, hunting, fishing, carpenter work and woodworking. He and his wife loved going to craft shows and he liked making lawn ornaments and bird houses.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death Oct. 3, 2017, by his wife, Betty J. Goodrich Williams, whom he married Dec. 31, 1988, in Clymer, N.Y.; and a sister, Bonnie Graham.

Charlie is survived by three daughters, Valerie Wieliczko and her husband Michael of Nashville, Tenn., Shelly Powell and her fiancé Scott Moronski of Spartansburg, Pa., and Susan Fisher of Corry, Pa.; three sons, Charles Williams Jr., and his wife Jenifer of Bear Lake, Pa., James Williams and his wife Sherri of Columbus, Pa., and Scott Applebee and his wife Tracey of Clymer, N.Y.; and a sister, Donna Garity of Lincolnville, Pa.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at Faith Evangelical Church, 13444 W. Washington St. Ext., Corry, Pa., on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Lynn Cirigliano will officiate. 

Due to CDC regulations, face masks and social distancing will be required.
