James H. Spencer

James H. Spencer, 59, of Spring Street, Corry, Pa., died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Corry Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Spencer was born in Spring Creek, Pa., on March 18, 1952, a son of the late Harold and Marie Wynn Spencer.

He was raised and educated in Corry and attended Corry Area High School. He then went to New Castle Trade School and returned to Corry. Jim worked at Ajax Iron Works (Cooper Industries) for over 19 years. He then moved to the Denver, Colo., area, where he worked until 2003, when he returned to Corry and worked in building maintenance for Bob Church for a couple years.

Jim was a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship Church, Corry. He also volunteered at the Corry Area Food Pantry and enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elton Miller and Clyde Miller.

Jim is survived by his wife, Goldie Apthorp Spencer, whom he married in Corry on September 26, 2009. He is also survived by two sons, Robert Spencer of Corry, and Herbert Morton III and his wife, Annie, of Bradford, Pa.; seven daughters, Anna Spencer of Phoenix, Ariz., Valerie Wagner of Bear Lake, Pa., Tammy Spencer of Bear Lake, Teresa Spencer of Denver, Colo., Melissa Kohlmeier and her husband, David, of Limestone, N.Y., Nancy Shatto and her husband, Scott, of Waterford, Pa., and Natalie Hanzak and her husband, James, of Madison, Ohio; two sisters Maxine Hulings and her husband, Don, of Centerville, Pa., and Patricia Ploss of Union City, Pa.; and two brothers, Walter Miller Sr. and his wife, Kay, of Corry, and Albert Miller of Erie, Pa.

Also surviving are many grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed.

Friends may attend a memorial service on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Full Gospel Fellowship Church, 16 W. Church St., Corry. The Rev. Orren Smith will officiate.

Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek, Pa.

The Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, is handling arrangements.
