Roger Harold White, 85, of French Creek, N.Y., died peacefully Nov. 23, 2020, at Heritage Village, Gerry, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Ruth King White; his brothers, Lyle, Gordon, Don and Ralph; and a son, Scott Matthew White.
Roger is survived by his wife, Nancy, whom he married Aug. 9, 1958.
He is lovingly remembered by four children, Dan White, Amy (Brian) Mullen, Raleigh (Melinda) White, Ryan White; and grandchildren, Rachel, Haley, Morgan, Makayla, Anneke and Owen; and his sister, Doris.
Roger was born at home in French Creek on June 29, 1935, and graduated from Clymer Central School in 1954. He was very happy to be the fourth generation living on and managing the family farm in French Creek. He was a member of Clymer Hill Reformed Church where he served as Deacon and Elder.
He loved his family times, community and school activities, playing softball in the community league, the Detroit Tigers, Western Style Square Dancing and chopping corn! Roger and Nancy retired and traveled south for winters where he played Bocce, danced, toured and was a proud member of the Thundering Turtles.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held today, Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at 2 p.m. in Holland Cemetery, Clymer, with the Rev. Gordon Damsteegt officiating.
COVID regulations require masks be worn and 6 feet social distancing be observed.
