Dorothy Fern Baressi, 90, of West Smith Street, Corry, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at her home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Union City, Pa. She was the daughter of Clement and Fern (Danner) Aymong.
She was raised and educated in Corry and graduated in 1947 from Corry High School.
As a young woman she worked at FW Woolworths, Zuckermannis Women’s Shop, GC Murphys and the FBI in Washington, D.C.
Dorothy was a member of St. Thomas Church in Corry. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Corry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She also belonged to the 500 Club at the Corry Senior Center and a new member of the Corry Moose Lodge. She worked for the Democratic Party and served as the 3rd Ward Chairwoman. She loved to listen to The Revolving Door Band and go to Karaoke.
She loved playing cards, especially Skip-Bo with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ann Marie; her three brothers, Clement M., John L. (Jack) and Nester (Red) Aymong; her son-in-law, Rick Morgan; and grandson, Shawn Stull.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Dave) Stull, Theresa (Chip) Williams, Barb (Al) Chase and Dottie Morgan; and her son, Samuel J. Baressi. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren – Shawn and Brian Anderson, Adrienne Beimel, Ryan Williams, Loren Chase, Traci Beatty, Jacque, Jessica and Jimmy Hill, Mike Morgan, Mandy Graves, Nancy Coulson, Mike and Jeff Stull.
Dorothy is survived by 34 great-grandchildren, three great- great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Community Nursing of North East Home Health and Hospice, for all of the wonderful care they provided to our mother and also her personal Caregivers - Tammy Cappelletty, Keri Cozad, Kelly Way and Jessica Hill, who have taken care of her for the last year.
Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and attend the funeral Mass on Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 203 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., at 11 a.m. The Rev. D. G. Davis will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
