Rose M. Amoroso

Rose M. Amoroso, 86, formerly of East Pleasant Street, Corry, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Warren General Hospital, Warren, Pa.

She was born July 10, 1933, in Corry, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Delavern Munn.

Rose was raised and educated in Corry where she graduated from Corry High School in 1951. Following her marriage, her main priority was raising and caring for her family. In addition, she helped her husband in the family business, A & B Distributors, until they sold the business in June 1995.

She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Corry. Rose enjoyed bowling, weekly bingo games with her sister, working with her flowers, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rose had an extensive music box collection and after retirement, she was very involved with GECAC, and the Senior Center of Corry where she was named “Volunteer of the Year” a number of times.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death Jan. 25, 2008, by her husband, Joseph A. Amoroso, whom she married July 14, 1951, in Corry, Pa.; two sisters, Georgia Higgins and Virginia Roach; three brothers, Charles, Eugene and Carson Munn; and two half-brothers, Ansel and John Ploss.

Rose is survived by five daughters, Cynthia Swart and her husband Robert of Corry, Pa., JoAnn Leidolph of Citrus Heights, Calif., Teresa Gluvna and her husband Ronald of Corry, Pa., Mary Laurin and her husband Mark of Wilmington, N.C., and Vicki Hajec and her husband Steven of Spring Creek, Pa.

She is also survived by several grandchildren, Amorette, Ryan (Kellie), James, Rose, Amanda, Aaron, Alec (Brenda), Abby, Heather, Morgan, Jennifer, Kyra and Jacob; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 1 p.m. The Rev. D.G. Davis III will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
