Robert "Rob" Paul Spencer, 45, of West Pleasant Street, Corry, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie surrounded by the love and support of his family after he fought a long, hard battle with illness.
Robert was born in Corry, Pa., on Aug. 29, 1974. He was raised and educated in Corry.
Following high school, Robert was employed in the Corry area and later attended trucking school. He received his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and worked as a truck driver for multiple years.
Robert enjoyed camping, kayaking, fishing and the Miami Dolphins. Most of all, he enjoyed being outdoors making memories with his family, which he always put first and foremost.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Spencer.
Robert is survived by his loving mother, Sylvia (Huff) Proctor of Corry; his significant other, Debbie Derry of Corry; four sisters, Anna Spencer and her significant other, Dennis Downing, of Shoemakersville, Pa., Valerie Wagner and her significant other, Mike Reagle, of Corry, Tammy Spencer of Erie and Theresa Spencer of Colorado; two stepbrothers, Kenneth Hannah of Warren and Donald Gariepy of North Carolina; and a stepsister, Amanda (Gariepy) Glover of Warren.
He is also survived by his three sons, Dustin Spencer and Austin Spencer, both of Georgia, and Levi Spencer of Corry; four stepsons, Sean Derry of Corry, First Class Airman Jacob Derry of North Carolina, Matthew Brockman and Gregory Brockman, both of McKean; a stepdaughter, Brittany Derry and her financé, Jordan Schrecengost, of Corry; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in memory of Robert next summer for family and close friends at "Family Acres," his family's campground near Youngsville.
Askins Cremation Funeral Services, 8354 Wattsburg Road, Erie, is assisting the family with arrangements.
