Richard H. Courtney, 72,
of East Main
Street, Corry, Pa., died Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Corry Manor.
He was born on October 7, 1938, in Erie, Pa., a son of the late Adabelle Mourton Courtney.
Richard was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry High School in 1956.
He began working at Buesink Ford as parts manager and later worked at A.O. Smith in Erie as a tool-and-die maker for 12 years. Most recently he worked for Corry Manufacturing Co. for 22 years until his retirement in 2001.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing, building street rods and going to car shows.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Courtney.
Richard is survived by his wife, Wilda Brooks Courtney, whom he married on August 13, 1960, in Mayville, N.Y.; two daughters, Kelley Paparelli and her husband, Tony, of Erie, Pa., Joni Catalfu and her husband, John, of Corry, Pa.; a son, Mark Courtney; and a sister-in-law, Sue Courtney, both of Corry, Pa.
Seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.
No calling hours will be observed.
Burial will be held privately by the family at Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
