Gerald L. ‘Jerry’ Krasa


Gerald L. “Jerry” Krasa, 80, of West Washington Street Extension, Corry, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at Abington Crest, Erie, Pa.

He was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Meadville, Pa., a son of the late John W. and Thelma V. Herman Krasa.

Jerry was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry Area High School. He worked several jobs in the Corry area, including Greenhouses and Tree Nurseries, and Erie Plastics. For the majority of his working career, Jerry worked as a foreman for Viking Plastics. After his retirement from Viking, he worked for Corry Manufacturing. Jerry also had his own greenhouse where he enjoyed growing plants and flowers.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Corry. He enjoyed bowling and started a bowling league in Corry and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jerry especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Edward J. Krasa.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Manross Krasa, whom he married Nov. 10, 1967, in Corry; a daughter, Jennifer Crabb and her husband Kenneth of Palm Bay, Fla.; three sons, Steven Krasa of Polk, Pa., Mike Krasa and his wife Tiffany of Clymer, N.Y., and William Shearer of Corry, Pa.; and two brothers. James W. Krasa and his wife Linda of St. Cloud, Fla., and Donald L. Krasa and his wife Barb of Corry, Pa.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kayla Kitchener, Gavin Krasa, Sadie Jo Krasa, Mason Crabb, Patience Shearer and William Shearer; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at noon. The Rev. Dave Cooke will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
