The North East High School varsity volleyball team finished its season in the semifinals of the district playoffs.

In the opening round, North East beat West Middlesex with a score of 25-13, 25-6, 25-19.

The girls then played and beat Iroquois with scores of 25-17, 13-25, 25-18, 25-14. This moved the Pickers into the semi-finals against Sharpsville.

Sharpsville beat the Pickers after losing the first set 17-25, with scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-21.

The Pickers hoped to return to the district finals for the third year in a row, however that did not happen.

The girls came into the season with a whole new lineup after graduating five seniors last year. With confidence to overcome doubt, the girls proved that by working hard, they would still be a team that offered a challenge.
