The Mercyhurst Saints wrestling team hosted WNYAC rival the Thunderwolves of Niagara County Community College for their home opener.  The no. 13 Thunderwolves took an early lead and the Saints couldn't catch up. The final team score was 47-3 in favor of the Thunderwolves.

North East varsity boys soccer defeated Seneca, 4-3, in double overtime at North East on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Seniors were celebrated during North East football team’s home game on Friday, Oct. 20, where parents and players were honored on the field. Although North East celebrated their seniors, they did not celebrate a victory on Friday evening, after a loss to Iroquois, 63-26, in region play.

The Mercyhurst Saints volleyball team ended its season at the conference tournament by going 1-1 with a win over Genesee Community College and a loss to Jamestown Community College. The Saints final record was 9-16.

North East Little League was recently selected to receive a Community Assets Grant through the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority. The $6,105 grant, awarded in September, will be put toward facility improvements at the NELL complex on South Washington Street.

North East boys varsity soccer team lost against General McLane Lancers, 6-3, on Saturday, Sept. 30, at home.

Tony Webb of North East won the North Hills Golf Club Senior Club Championship in Corry, Pa., on Sept. 23-24. Webb shot a 79 and 82 on lightning fast greens to beat Larry Ames of Lawrence Park by six strokes. This was Webb's third Senior Club championship at North Hills.
