Members of the North East School Board reconvened Thursday, August 2 after a July hiatus. An update on the North East High School renovation project and discussion of beginning the Plancon process for North East Middle School topped the agenda.
Maintenance supervisor Mike Skrekla said the project is on schedule, with the library in its final phase, lockers, cabinets and univents arriving on time and two of three special education rooms nearly complete.

NEMS is eligible for a Plancon project, Business Manager Brian Polito told the board. While no major projects are planned for the 20-year old building, Polito said the opportunity to begin the Plancon process and apply for step A is an option. By beginning the Plancon process, Polito said the district can “look in case we need something.”
