The North East Chamber of Commerce reports that two area businesses are adding to their workforce.

The Roberts Group, consisting of Roberts Trucking, Roberts Warehousing and Roberts Logistics, is adding 50 employees to its staff. According to Kari Moore, Operations Manager, Roberts has experienced almost 60 percent growth in business this year.

Currently, Roberts employs 230 people, over half of them North East residents. The upcoming staff expansion will help the company better serve its nearly 300 customers across the U.S. Roberts hosted a job fair on Oct. 22, where company representatives accepted applications from 400 attendees.

Positions to be filled include drivers, office staff, warehousing, laborers, mechanics, maintenance and supervisors. More employment information can be found at www.robertstrucking.com.

A relative newcomer to the North East area, Scott Enterprises is hosting a job fair from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Nov. 5 to fill 500 seasonal part-time positions for its latest acquisition, The Peek ‘n Peak Resort & Spa. The company is seeking to fill positions in lodging, ski operations, food & beverages, child care, front desk services, reservations, security and housekeeping. Additionally, the company is looking to fill a limited number of regular staff positions.

Director of Human Resources Jo Ann Barnes reports that Scott Enterprises is very excited to have acquired The Peek and that they are committed to enhancing the resort by upgrading and adding to its many attractions.
