Pattie’s Pink Warriors raises $27,000 for Breast Cancer awareness

Pattie’s Pink Warriors would like to thank everyone for their continued support and generous donations for Breast Cancer awareness.

Every October PPW, with the help of St. Gregory’s students and faculty, turns the town of North East “pink” and fundraises for the American Cancer Society.  Money raised goes toward research to find, prevent, treat and cure the disease, and also toward patient services.

In our first year (2008) PPW raised $3,251.50. For 2015, we surpassed our goal of $25,000 by raising $27,000, bringing the total to over $98,000 donated to the ACS for this great cause since 2008.

A special thanks to:  Angie’s Bakery and Sweet Shop, Arrowhead Wine Cellars, Beauty by Belson, Bella Day Spa, Boston Bean, Community Bank in Ripley, Cork 1794, Courtyard Wineries, Dr. and Mrs. Dudzinski, Eades Insurance, The Flower Cart, Freeport Restaurant, Margaret Giles, Gorzynski, Uglow and Farrell PC, and Gray Matter Media.

Also, Green Meadows Golf Course, Hair Do’s by Julie Davis, Harborcreek Bob Evans, Johnny B’s Restaurant, Knights of Columbus Council 4262, Keith Kramer, Lakeside Auto Group (3 locations) and Pay It Forward, Lakeview Country Club and Lakeview’s Woman’s Golf League, Main Studio Hair Salon, Mazza Vineyards, Mercyhurst NE Student Government, Tim Moore (Golf For A Cure), NE Athletic Club, NE Borough and Street Department, and NE Burger King.

Also, NE Chamber, NE Choral Club, NE Community Chest, NE Dairy Queen, NE Football Cheerleaders and coaches Ashlee Hoelke and Donna Widomski, NE Girl’s Volleyball Team and coach Sherry Elchynski, NE High School and Middle School faculty and staff, NE News Journal, NE Welch Federal Credit Union, Darlene Orschek, Orton’s Fruit Market, Kimberly Orton, Penn Shore Vineyards, Roberts Trucking, St. Gregory’s students and faculty, Sanders Market, Mike Skrekla, Stetson Bros., Two Horse Leather, Beth Way and Patty Orton-Kuna, Widget Financial, Clare Wilson and everyone who donated items for the raffle.

Together we are helping people stay well by providing prevention and early detection information, helping people get well by guiding them through every step of their cancer experience, finding cures and better treatments by funding and conducting research, and fighting back by working with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer. Together we are achieving results.

Thank you again for helping us to create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays!  Love you all and Happy New Year.
