Candidates for this year’s Grape Queen Lindsay Thompson of North East and Stasia Lesoski of Harborcreek met with Andy Muza of the Erie County Cooperative Extension at the Penn State Lab on Cemetery Road to learn about grapes: varieties, pesticides, growing season, diseases and other aspects of grape farming.

This Grape Knowledge class is one-quarter of the girls’ testing for the PA Grape Queen crown. Coronation will be held on Thursday, September 16 at the North East High School Auditorium.

The public is invited to attend as we celebrate 50 years of queens!
