The Gem City Concert Band is once again seeking new members for the Spring 2010 season. The concert band, currently consisting of about 40 members and under the direction of Dr. Scott Tomlison of Mercyhurst College, plays music such as overtures, show tunes, traditional concert band pieces, movie scores, and marches.

The band presents a spring, summer and fall concert at St. John's Lutheran Church, as well as numerous other retirement homes and community performances throughout the year.

Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. in the lower-level meeting room of St. John's Lutheran Church at 23rd and Peach Streets.

Interested musicians can call 814-899-8467, email s.readel@verizon.net, or visit on-line at www.gemcitybands.org for more information.

All instruments are welcomed, but we are especially looking for percussion, trumpet, alto & tenor sax, oboe and bassoon.
