The annual Memorial Day Remembrance Services and parade will be hosted by veterans of American Legion Lake Shore Post 105 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4798 on Monday, May 30, 2011.

Memorial services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Gibson Park at 9 a.m. The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 105 will assemble parade units at the park following the services.

The parade will begin at approximately 9:45 a.m. and will include a variety of patriotic service and community organizations from the area, including units from the American Legion, North East Fire Department, Military Reserves, National Guard and the North East High School band.

The units will march along West Main Street and continue to Oak Hill cemetery at the corner of Rt. 20 and Cemetery Road .The American Legion will conduct Remembrance Services at the cemetery with guest speaker Lt. Col. Greg Henning and the high school band will perform under the direction of Mr. DeGrosky.

All veterans are invited to march to help make the services and this parade an outstanding one. Veterans do not have to have a uniform; just wear a sport coat. If you still have a military uniform and/or uniform hat and wish to wear it, please do so. Your participation in the parade would be welcomed and appreciated.
