Registrations are now being accepted for fall children’s swimming lessons, sponsored by North East Recreation Commission.

Kids in grade K-2 are welcome and registration forms are available at the Davis Primary School office. Registration forms must be returned to Bill Mackin at North East Elementary Center by Friday, September 30. Space is limited.

Cost for the 10 half-hour lessons is $30 for North East residents and $40 for non-North East residents.  Classes are scheduled for October 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 and 18. All swimmers will be in Group 1 unless informed otherwise. Group 1 will meet from 4-4:30 p.m. Group 2 will only exist if group 1 is full.

Parents are invited to observe lessons on the final two days of class. Davis School swimmers in the first group will be directed to the swimming pool immediately upon dismissal. Swimmers in the second group must be brought back to school for their lesson. Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up little swimmers after their lesson is complete in either session.

Submerging the head and entering the water in various ways, including jumping, are valuable skills and will be part of these classes.

No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline. Please direct questions to Bill Mackin at 725-8671 extension 3006.
