In spite of the hot weather and adverse conditions there are many of outstanding gardens in our community. Keep sending in your nominations!

For your driving pleasure, here is a list of July’s Gardens of Merit:

205 Washington St., 5 Washington St., 12 Washington St., 161 Lynwood Ave., 1041 East Middle Rd., 9 E. Divison St., 29 Bank St., 1716 Papermill, 11013 Vineyard Dr. and 140 East Main St.

The NE In Bloom Business of the Month is Lake Shore Post 105. Manager Char Jagda initiated the lovely and colorful annual flower beds around the building.

July’s residential winner is a wonderful perennial garden at 9731 Findley Lake Road belonging to Bonnie & Skip Desin. There’s a pergola that you can see from the road that they made themselves and lots of lilies, coneflowers and more.

As you drive about the community, be sure to check out the local churches - they do a great job on their landscapes and flower beds.
