Weeks have passed since our son Brandon’s base in Afghanistan was completely destroyed by a fire on April 15, leaving him and his fellow soldiers with only the clothes on their backs. It was a miracle that no American lives were lost, although 16 soldiers suffered minor injuries from the firefight that pursued with the insurgents.

The outpouring support from our family, friends and others has been overwhelming. With the donations we received we were able to purchase several sheet sets, blankets, pillows, towels and flashlights, along with boxes full of razors, toothbrushes and other much-needed hygiene items and a large assortment of snack foods.

We would like you to know that your thoughtfulness has truly made a difference and boosted the morale of so many soldiers that were stationed at FOB Finley-Shields.
