Knights of Columbus will host a spaghetti dinner this Saturday, September 24 from 2-8 p.m. at St. Gregory Parish School on W. Main St. Cost is $6 for ages 12 and up, $4 for ages 6-11 and kids under 5 are free. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread and beverage. Spaghetti sauce is homemade from St. Joe’s Club.
The office of the NE Borough tax collector will be open Friday September 30. Regular office hours will be in effect, 9-1 and 2-5. This is the last day to pay your school taxes and receive the 2% discount.
North East Historical Society is sponsoring its 3rd annual “Grape Escape” Wine giveaway in conjunction with Wine Fest. First prize is two bottles of wine from each of North East’s nine participating wineries. Second prize is one bottle from each winery. Winners will be drawn at the conclusion of Wine Fest Sunday afternoon. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available from the North East Chamber, participating wineries, and the North East Historical Society table inside the main wine tent at Gravel Pit Park. Light Up Night for Breast Cancer Awareness will be held at Gibson Park on Saturday, October 1, starting at 7 p.m. with the lights being turned on at 7:30 p.m. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k fun walk is also Oct. 1 starting at 9:45 a.m. at Perry Square in Erie. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
The Greenfield Fire Dept. will host its annual Turkey Shoots beginning at 10 a.m. on Sundays Oct. 2, 9, 16, 30 and Nov. 6 and 13, 2011 at the Fire Hall, 10160 Station Rd./Rt.430. Cost is $1.00 per shot.
N.E. Little Gridders and Cheerleaders Games that are scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 24 WILL NOT be played at The Heard Park but at the A.C. Field off Gibson Street. We will be back at The Heard Park on Oct. 1.
