More than 25 students and parents toured the North East Historical Museum facility last Friday and Saturday.

Attendees participated in a quiz game of U.S. History. Where students wrote their own questions and answers from historical posters purchased by the museum from the Teacher’s Apple Basket store.

The museum provided the quiz game prizes with donations from private individuals and also The Teacher’s Apple Basket. The Teacher’s Apple Basket donated Statue of Liberty bookmarks to all students who participated.

The youngest winner, the great-granddaughter of Marge Montgomery, who resides in North East, was only four years old.

Grand prize winner was eighth grader Steven Wilkinson of North East, who won a gift certificate to the North East Dairy Queen.

There will be at least one more night of history game fun at the museum for elementary and middle school students in late august and September. The date will be announced in the News-Journal after the museum board meets.

The museum needs volunteers to watch the facility on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4:30 to 7 p.m. To volunteer, call Darlene Bemiss at (301)367-9984, president Jim Bogert or Bonnie Duckett.
