Kenneth B. Neckers, 76, of Corry, Pa. died at home Friday, September 23, 2011. He was born on June 26, 1935 in Corry, the only child of the late Norman and Elvira “Bruce” Brown Neckers. Ken was a graduate of Sherman NY High School in 1953.

After graduation he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Following his discharge he returned home. Ken had owned and operated Maplevale Farms, formerly of Clymer, N.Y. and currently in Falconer, N.Y. for over 50 years, a business that he and his father started in French Creek, N.Y. For many years his wife and sons have been involved with him in operating Maplevale Farms.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Corry Country Club, North Hills Golf Course, Triangle Squares and Beaver Squares Dance Clubs, and the Thundering Herd Running Club. He was also President of the Corry YMCA from 1995 to 1999 and a founding Board member of the Corry Community Foundation. He enjoyed biking, golfing and traveling.

Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Maas Neckers, whom he married February 23, 1957 in North East, Pa., four sons and daughters-in-law; Gary and Sandra Neckers of Clymer, N.Y., Douglas and Wendy Neckers of Corry, Pa., Andrew Neckers of French Creek, N.Y., and Bruce and Jacki Randall of Richmand, Va.; eight grandchildren, Bruce (Amy) Neckers, Heather (Murl) Kinal, Joel Neckers, Arial (Noah) Banks, Cameron Neckers, Victoria Neckers, Danielle Neckers and Shawn (Julia) Miller; and five great-grandchildren, James, Colt, and Dalton Milller and Dustin and Alexys Neckers. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Arrangements were handled by the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center Street, Corry, Pa. Memorials may be made to Regional Home Health and Hospice, 13675 Rte 6, Corry, PA 16407 or the American Cancer Society -Corry Unit, 2115 W. 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508.
