Vernon E. Lamb, age 90, of North East, died on Friday September 9, 2011 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born October 25, 1920 in Penfield, PA to the late Warren H. and Mont Lucore Lamb.

Vim was a resident of North East since 1936, where he was a Machinist at Eureka Electrical Products for several years, retiring in 1982. He was also formerly part owner in the Sweet, King and Lamb Basket Factory in Greenfield Twp.

He was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army Air Force where he served at C.B.I.

He was a former member of F& AM Masonic Lodge # 399 in North East, Lake View County Club, Greenfield Fire Dept. where he served as Chief in 1954, also active in North East Little League as a Umpire and was a current member of the Brotherhood of St. Joseph.

Vim enjoyed after his retirement driving car’s for the auto dealers to other area’s and golf and bowling.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Jyrkas, brothers and sisters Sergeant, Gabriella, Darrel, Merril, John, Geraldine, Ruby, Norman, Olive, Margaret and Gerald Lamb.   Vim is survived by his wife of 68 years  Lois King Lamb married June 14, 1943. Son Dennis Lamb and his wife Barbara of McMurray, PA. Grandchildren Stephanie Ricker, Stacie Burns, Sonya Koszewski, Matthew Jyrkas and Adrienne Kovar. Also 10 Great Grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home 65 South Lake St. North East. Memorials may be made to the North East Fire Dept. Box 89 North East, PA 16428 or Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation 130 West 8th St. Erie, PA 16501.

After his health failed he resided at Twinbrook Medical Center, His family would like to thank Twinbrook and the staff for his great care.
