Hubert exhibit opens: Tom Hubert, associate professor of art at Mercyhurst College, is celebrating his 30th year of teaching art with an exhibit in the college’s Cummings Art Gallery titled “Tom Hubert: Still Playing With Clay.” The 70 pieces in the show represent the variety of directions he has been pursuing in ceramics over the last several years, including decorative whiteware pottery, functional white stoneware and porcelain, painterly ceramic wall pieces and ceramic sculpture. An artist’s reception is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show runs through Sept. 26; the gallery is open Tuesday-Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information call 824-2092.
