Despite stormy weather before the event, over 200 children ages 2-9 showed up to claim their bag of goodies and a can of juice at the annual American Legion Easter Egg hunt.

From the word “go,” 1,800 eggs were picked up in less than four minutes, some of which were maked for a special prize.

“Mother Nature smiled on us and the children today,” said Commander Fritz Jagoda. The rosy cheeks and big smiles showed that a good time was had by all.

None of this could happen without the help of the North East businesses that the community is lucky to have. Their support makes it possible for organizations like American Legion Post 105 to hold an event open to the community like the annual Easter egg hunt.

American Legion Post 105 thanks Mercyhurst North East, Welch’s, Sander’s Market, Dr. John Alonge, La Casa De Pizza, Dairy Queen, McDonald’s and the Chamber of Commerce for helping to make this year’s event a success.
