To commemorate Arbor Day 2010, the North East Shade Tree Commission, in conjunction with the North East Borough, is offering free trees to North East Borough residents. The bare-root trees will be small hardwoods.

Trees will be available to borough residents only, with a limit of two per household.  Trees must be ordered in advance by completing a request form available at the Borough Hall, 31 West Main Street. Deadline for requests is April 21.

Volunteers will be on hand to distribute the trees on Saturday, May 1 between 8 and 10 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Borough Hall. A planting guide will be provided at the time of tree pickup.
