The monthly Bereavement Support Group meeting, conducted through the Community Nursing Services Hospice program, is scheduled for Thursday, May 19 from 3-5 p.m. at the CNSNE office at 7 Park St.

The CNSNE Volunteer/Bereavement Coordinator provides bereavement services to survivors for one year following the loss of their loved one. The coordinator assists families in their grief journey through telephone contacts in three-month intervals, visits, providing pertinent grief information, counseling as needed and any other referrals to supportive services to assist with any significant problems in the grief process.

Bereavement Support Group meetings are normally held on the third Thursday of the month, in addition to the individual follow-up services to Hospice patient survivors.

Meetings are free and open to the public no matter how long ago the loss occurred. Helpful information is provided to participants regarding the grief process as well as time for discussion and sharing. Information shared and discussion will be held strictly confidential, as in all Hospice services.

Please contact Maggi Hitchcock, Bereavement Coordinator, at the office at 725-4300 if you have questions or are in need of transportation assistance.
