Lake Shore Post 105 of the American Legion announces the selection of the following students to attend PA State Police Youth Week: Christopher J. Braun, John William Hupp III, Alia Clark and Russell Murphy.

This year’s program took place June 13-19 at York College in York, Pa. This is the 40th year for the partnership between the American Legion, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pa. National Guard.

Hupp, Clark and Murphy are all sophomores at North East High School and Braun is a sophomore at Cathedral Prep.

Hupp is a member of Boy Scout Troop 82 and is working toward his Eagle rank. He is a member of National Honor Society and the football team.

Clark is a member of NHS and participates in girls track and swim team.

Murphy is a member of the cross country team and a member of Boy Scout Troop 57, also working toward Eagle Scout rank.

Braun is a member of the Air Force Jr. ROTC, holding the rank of Master Sergeant. He is also on the drill team and trap team.

The program is a six-day camp used to introduce students in all procedures of law enforcement. Cadets march to their classes in platoon formation and have drill competition. The program includes forensics, canine, crime codes, bomb squad, SWAT team, riot control, prison systems, drug laws, radar, marksman course and familiarity with weapons.
