Matthew Giles marries Naomi Rivera


Naomi Grace Rivera and Matthew Scott Giles exchanged wedding vows July 25, 2009 at Brentwood Church in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Naomi is the daughter of Jose and Pam Rivera of Mountain View, Arkansas. Her father gave her away and also officiated the late-morning ceremony. The bride wore a halter-top gown with a sweetheart neckline. The gown featured simple beading on the bodice and a pick-up skirt. She carried a bouquet of white and green hydrangea, yellow roses, greenery and curly willow branches.

Kristen Riordan, best friend and roommate of the bride, was the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Sarah Hacking, friend and roommate of the bride; Sarah Iverson, cousin of the bride; Stacy Rivera, sister-in-law of the bride; and Kimberly Giles, sister of the groom.

Irelynn Fink, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.

Matt is the son of Douglas and Margaret Giles of North East, Pennsylvania.

Randy Giles, brother of the groom, was the Best Man. Groomsmen included Casey Doolittle and Michael Fitzpatrick, friends of the groom; and David Rivera and Andres Rivera, brothers of the bride.

Approximately 120 family members and friends joined the couple for a reception held at The Spring House in Appomattox, Va.

Matt and Naomi traveled to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, for an eight-day honeymoon. They make their home at 29 Shrader Lane, Apt. 204, Lynchburg, VA 24502.

Naomi is a full time student in her senior year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She will graduate with a bachelor degree in elementary education, with a concentration/specialization in English and Spanish.

Matt earned his bachelor degree in mathematics and is certified in secondary education. He teaches eighth grade pre-algebra and algebra at Amherst Middle School in Amherst, Va.
