Members of the North East track and field team will compete in the District 10 Championship meet on Saturday, May 18, at Slippery Rock University. 

For the girls team, Alexandria Damond, Maddie Hartner, Sophie Durst and Maddie Hammond will compete in the 3200-meter relay. 

Damond will also compete in the 800-meter race. 

Hartner has qualified for districts in the 3200-meter event as well. 

Gracie Victory will be competing in the high jump competition. 

Senior Sarah Wakley will compete in the discus, while freshman Mercede Myers has qualified in the shot put. 

The boys track team will be sending three relay teams to districts. 

Running in the 3200-meter relay will be Zane Courtwright, Jason Seevers, Brock Pennington and Josh Lewis. 

The 1600-meter relay will feature Justin Warr, Josh Makin, Seevers and Nick Kerner. 

The 400-meter relay team includes Warr, Kerner, Lucas Jelley and Lucas Russell. 

Both Kerner and Russell have also qualified for the boys 100-meter dash. 

Russell and Warr will also compete in the 200- and 400-meter races.

Courtwright and Tanner Kloss have qualified for the 1600-meter run. Courtwright and Pennington will also compete in the 3200-meter race. 

Running in the 800 will be Lewis, Seevers and Chris Luebbert.

Jelley will also be competing in the high jump and long jump competitions. 

North East’s Deven Kimmy and Devin Muscarella have qualified in the pole vault. 

Three Pickers will compete in the discus competition. They are Kevin Zuccolotto, Hamilton Kraemer and Zack Nishnick.
