The North East Sportsman’s Club and the Northwest PA Pheasants Forever Chapter 728 are partnering to sponsor a Youth Shooting and Conservation Day on Saturday, July 14.

The event will be held at the North East Sportsman’s Club grounds, 11551 Townline Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rain date will be Saturday, July 21.

Youth Shooting and Conservation Day supports Pheasants Forever’s “No Child Left Indoors” initiative and will be free and open to the public.

Lunch and several door prizes will also be provided.

The event is open to children ages 10 to 16.

No skills are required and Youth Shooting and Conservation Day will introduce children to shooting sports.

Skilled volunteers will be on site to assist all young shooters.

Discussions on conservation and habitats will also be led by local experts.

Pre-registration and a signed waiver will be required. A parent, grandparent or legal guardian must also be present.

Participants can bring their own equipment, but it is not mandatory.

Shooting events will include trap (clay targets), archery and rimfire.

Pre-registration is due by Monday, July 9.

To register, email emoss1228@verizon.net or mattputman54@twc.com.
