Corry Area High School announces 2012 valedictorian, salutatorian

The valedictorian and salutatorian of the Corry Area High School class of 2012 have been announced.

Alivia Kusiak has earned the top spot as valedictorian and Samantha Owens has been named the salutatorian.

The honors were given Thursday night during the school’s annual Academic Achievement Banquet.

Kusiak is the daughter of Jeramie and Sarah Kusiak. She plans to attend Duquesne University in the fall where she will pursue a doctorate degree in pharmacy.

Owens is the daughter of Shelly and Randy Owens. She has been accepted to the University of Pittsburgh where she will study physical therapy.

Kusiak and Owens will address the senior class during a graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 2, at 10 a.m. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held on the football field. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside to the school gymnasium.
