For the first time since 1982, Erie County Council’s 6th District representative will not live in the city of Corry.

Republican and Corry resident David Mitchell, who has held the position since 1996, has lost a write-in campaign in an effort to win back his seat.

According to unofficial results from the Erie County Courthouse, Republican Ebert G. “Bill” Beeman is the winner.

Beeman, a Waterford Township resident, also defeated Democrat and Corry resident Gerald Price, to claim victory in Tuesday's municipal election.

With all 23 voting districts in the 6th District counted, Beeman, 60, received 2,054 votes, according to the courthouse.
