AMITY TOWNSHIP — An 8-year-old Wattsburg girl died Saturday night in an all-terrain vehicle accident.

State police at Corry reported the 8-year-old girl was riding across a field off Arbuckle Road in a 2010 MUV700 Honda Big Red utility vehicle at about 7:40 p.m. The utility vehicle rolled onto its side while going over a hill. As the utility vehicle was rolling, the girl was thrown off, and it rolled on top of her.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.

Louis C. Haibach, 49, of Hopson Hill Road, Wattsburg, and another 8-year-old Wattsburg girl were also riding in the utility vehicle.

They were transported to UPMC Hamot in Erie. Their conditions were not available.

State police are continuing their investigation.
