Blood drive

Corry resident Arlene Leroy, left, donates blood at a drive hosted by the Corry chapter of the American Red Cross at Corry First United Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon. Assisting Leroy with giving blood is Neysha Alvarez, of Buffalo, New York, a member of the Red Cross blood collection staff. Forty-three units of blood were collected from 38 donors, some of which gave double red donations. Organizers of the blood drive were pleased with the turnout since the overall collection surpassed their goal of 32 units. "We had a very good day," said Cyd Hartley, member of the Red Cross' Corry chapter.
