A two-car accident occurred Wednesday afternoon on West Columbus Avenue, near the intersection with Mead Avenue, when a Jeep Patriot rear-ended a Dodge Durango. Corry Fire Department was dispatched at 2:52 p.m. and during that time of day, traffic control was a challenge for responders who had to divert traffic until both vehicles could be towed. Leroy's Towing Service was called to tow away the Jeep Patriot with front-end damage and a deployed airbag. The Dodge Durango appeared to have minor damage but the Jeep went under the rear bumper of the Dodge and pushed its exhaust system into the rear tires. West Columbus Avenue had to be shut down temporarily and traffic was diverted to go around the accident. Corry City Police and Corry Ambulance Services responded to the scene. A juvenile passenger was assessed for injuries and denied further treatment. Both drivers denied any injuries, Corry Fire Chief Jim Lathrop said. Fire crews were back in service at 3:35 p.m.
